FALL STYLE GUIDE 2020: The Color of the Season is WINE (also the drink of 2020)

I am OBSESSED with everything WINE (not just the drink!), burgundy, maroon, whatever you are calling this color! It pairs great with neutrals and is just enough pop of color that transitions from Fall to Holiday so easily!

Below are 5 easy ways to incorporate this wine color into your wardrobe.

From dressy to casual, I’ve got you covered.

  1. Dress(ed) Up – Opt for a printed dress like this one from Target and add a wine colored fedora for a head (almost to toe) look. I paired this dress with some black knee high boots to break up the color a little and match back to the black of the plaid in the dress.

  1. From Busy Day at the Office to Girls Night Out – As a working mom with a social life (pre-mom and pre-covid), I always preferred pieces of clothing that I could wear to work and dress up or down for afterwork. I am just now getting somewhat of a social life back since I had Juliana (2ish years later), BUT then covid hit and so now I’m just in comfy clothes at all of my virtual happy hours. I digress… I love the pop of color this blazer gives to this outfit. Pair it with work pants (I’m wearing my favorite ones from loft) or wear with leggings (in this case faux leather leggings) for a night look.

  1. Casual Friday or Fall Activities – Add the wine color as an accessory only. In this case, it’s my favorite Amazon find of the season – the wine colored wool fedora! This fall hat is not only on trend for the season, the pop of color is refreshing from all the tan ones you see. It’s also super affordable and the color just adds something a little more interesting to any casual outfit. These jeans are my favorite from Abercrombie and this sweater is super soft from target.

  1. Wear to Work – Another work look in which the wine color is complementary to your statement piece, the puff sleeved, tweed blazer! The previous wear to work outfit highlighted the wine color and became the star when worn as a blazer. In this case, the wine color is incorporated as a basic mockneck underneath the puff sleeve blazer. Adds a pop of color without clashing with the amazing look of the tweed blazer.

  1. Date Night or Cocktail Hour – I turned this H&M wine colored top into a cute look for date night or something fancy by pairing it with a dressy skirt and adding a gold belt to accentuate my waist and show off my curves! This skirt is from Target and I LOVE the color and fabric because it looks luxurious!
